You could probably get Sonar 8 to work on there. Just be sure you buy the original disks and not someone's pirated junk. People are always selling off their old software. If you're looking for a DAW program that will run on XP, you can do better then Adobe. I never bothered with the multitracking features. I only use it for mastering stereo files. I still use cool edit for mastering audio and old as it is it still works OK, even on Win 10.
They changed the GUI but its plugins haven't changes very much and nothings been done to make it a serious DAW program. Cool edit was written by a company called Syntrillium who sold Cool Edit to Adobe after they came out with cool edit 2 around 2003.Īdobe made it into an audio/video program to support their other office suites.
